Supporting Local Schools with Holiday Home Tour

PrintThis holiday season Dave Perry-Miller & Associates is joining others in the support of the Armstrong Bradfield Preschool Association (ABPA) 13th annual “Homes for the Holidays” Home Tour. ABPA showcases some of the Park Cities’ most spectacular homes, highlighting each one’s unique characteristics. Enjoy the festivities this Friday, December 7, 2012, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Ticket prices are $20 in advance from ABPA members, on their website or at Tom Thumb Stores. Tickets may also be purchased for $25 at 4805 St Johns on the day of the tour.

The “Homes for the Holidays” tour is the only fundraiser for the Armstrong Bradfield Preschool Association that supports these two Highland Park elementary schools.  More than 70% of the school district’s property tax dollars go to schools outside the Highland Park district. One of the biggest reasons why HPISD continues to be an exemplary district, making the Park Cities an attractive place to live, is because of fundraising efforts like those of the ABPA.

Jane Gordon(1)

Jane Gordon’s children have grown up in this school district and she welcomed Dave Perry-Miller & Associates to join in sponsoring this lovely home tour.

This celebrated neighborhood tradition caught our attention thanks to the involvement in the association by Jane Gordon from our Highland Park office.

“My children have grown up in this exceptional school district and I felt Dave Perry-Miller & Associates would be a fine compliment to this event. Beautiful homes, breathtaking holiday décor, supporting our schools, it is… right up our alley,” says Gordon. Additionally Christine McKenny, Bo Parker, Stephen Pryor, Honey Rothermel and Burton Rhodes of Dave Perry-Miller & Associates all have children who attend these two outstanding schools.

In the past 12 years, the ABPA has raised more than $400,000 for the kindergarten and first grade classes at Armstrong & Bradfield elementary schools with the Homes for the Holiday tour. Approximately 97% of all monies raised from the tour go to the two schools. In 2011, the schools received $78,000 with each school using half the funds to purchase instructional materials, books, technology, math manipulatives & teacher workshops.
